Top 10 Ways To Practice Safer Sex

Safe sex is engaging in sexual activity with the aim of taking precautions to protect yourself against sexually transmitted infections such as HIV/AIDS. Here is a list of the top 10 ways to practice safe sex.Red condom and thumb up

1) Use male and female condoms
It is much safe to protect both your partner and you by using these barriers. The male latex condom is easy to use, efficient, cheap, and widely available for free at Planned Parenthood locations and other counseling services.
2) Use a dental dam for oral sex
Dental dams are latex sheets, or condoms that have been cut open to form squares, used to reduce the risk of passing blood and other fluids to the mouth from the genitals. These are effective in preventing STIs and HIV.
3) Consider using hormonal birth control
Hormonal contraception methods regulate a woman’s fertility cycles to prevent pregnancy. The most common type of hormonal birth control is often referred to as “the pill” and is taken orally every day. Make sure that you don’t skip a day.
4) Limit your number of sex partners
Try and avoid hook-ups and one-night-stands with people, especially people you don’t know and won’t have contact with. Choose sexual partners smartly to avoid risks, and avoid sex with anyone who doesn’t practice safely and respect your wishes.

5) If you use sex toys try and keep them clean
Sex toys are lots of fun, but they must be kept clean and hygienic. Always wash them between uses, and never use one that you’re not sure is clean.
6) Avoid mixing drugs and alcohol with sex
Having sex under the influence of drugs or alcohol is never a safe idea. Your safe sex practices can be compromised and less effective if you’re not in your right mind, and you also put yourself at risk of making poor decisions. Always try and be safe.

7) Get tested regularly
It is always safer to know your status and also for your partner to know their status. It is better to be on the safe side and taking care of oneself. When you know your status it gets much easier.
8) Know your limits
If condoms aren’t there and that moment is knocking at the door, please learn to be in control and say no. You might not know the risk you are putting your life into. Your life is not worth that one unprotective sex.
9) Talk to your partner
You need to be able to talk to your partner about sex, otherwise you won’t be able to practice safe sex. Talk to your partner about contraceptives, condoms and getting tested. This limits risks in relationship.
10) Or you can just abstain
But yet again you can abstain from sexual intercourse or you can murstibate. Murstibating can include the use of sex toys, as long as you keep them clean.
